  1. I was working out with my trainer this morning and felt a sharp pain on the outside of my surgical knee. My trainer specializes in kettle bells and I was working on a clean and press ladder on my left arm. I stopped working out and did a lot of stretching and foam rolling of the tight area. My trainer and I discussed the tender area and he thinks it's a tight iliotibial band. (http://www.time-to-run.com/injuries/thebig5/itb.htm if you want to read up on it) The thing is I'm not a runner, I do have orthodics because I overpronate, but I work out in socks to have better control. I was wondering if anyone else has had this kind of pain and if it is a result of my ACL surgery, weak muscles, scar tissue, etc. I plan on taking it easy this week, lots of stretching and icing and if it doesn't get any better, I'm going to call my surgeon. As always, any info from the group would be appreciated.

  2. Quick update on this. Turns out I moderately strained my hamstring. The swelling didn't go down at all after two days of icing and anti inflammatory pills, so I went to see my surgeon. On a positive note, he said my ACL is still rock solid. After inspecting my hamstring, he looked at me and said, "You know what this means, don't you?" I think my heart sank as I shook my head and he replied, "You're getting OLD!" :D I have to take it easy for a couple of weeks, but all should be well after that. And I don't have to see him for another year!
