  1. I had ACL Reconstruction 7 days ago and justs yesterday i started experiencing calf pain when i moved from lying down/leg elevated position to standing with crutches. The pain would last a while even after i got back to laying down with my leg elevated. Is this normal?

  2. If its the same pain that I experienced then what my pt told me was that its the blood rushing back down your swollen leg. I sucks I know but eventually it went away. It should only last a few moments.

  3. I was going to answer the same as Nelalez above. However, the rush of pain for me was in the shin just below the patella graft site and not in the calf pain.

The shin pain occured whenever I stood from sitting/laying. It was itense but it only last for a minute or so and seemed to completely disappear after 2 or 3 weeks post op.

  4. Stay on those pain meds! Are you having any bruising in the calf? Not a good sign if you do. Keep it elevated as much as possible and remember, ICE is your friend.
