  1. Hey all,
I just had autograft acl surgery from my patella and a small removal of my meniscus on June 28th. I found it quite painful and still do. When I try to get up the blood rushes to my knee and hurts pretty bad which has been limiting the amount I try to start walking on it. I have county health insurance and a county doctor so I haven't had the best post care instructions (although I will be having PT hopefully soon). I'm just hoping to find out how long each day I should try to work it out and what types of exercises to do.

Currently I've been sitting on the floor and stretching my leg out fully and trying to relax the muscles so that it can get used to full extension. I also try some leg lifts and just flexing the muscle. I'm really hoping to find some guided regimen to follow. At the moment, I really don't have much direction so any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks
    Michael

  3. At one week post op, this is my recommendation:

    Rest
    Ice
    Motrin/Ibuprophen
    Pain Meds (when needed)

Range of Motion exercises only until you see your PT or Doctor. Work on the extension rigorously. Flexion will come when the swelling starts to subside.
