well as you can see from the title, i have a whole lot of problems going on in my knee. I originally had acl reconstruction surgery in January of 2006, doing a patellar reconstruction. Now, over 4 years later, i have been struggling. I have never been able to straighten my leg completely, and have pain when i walk. After an MRI and a CT scan, i was informed that i had retorn my meniscus, have a cyclops lesion, and my acl is (what i think the doctor told me) at an incorrect angle. Apparently my original surgeon put my new acl in slightly incorrect and something about tunnels being too deep?
so thats my back story, my doctor said that he would prefer not to redo the entire acl.. is this the right choice? he said that he would rather leave the acl alone and deal with the other issues first. But when he says this i feel that it means that im going to have to deal with the acl eventually. many surgeons have declined my case because they need a joint specialist...
does anyone have any advice for how to proceed? i would really like to get it all over with and be able to go on with my life. I am only 21 and would like to not have to worry about a knee replacement so young.
