  1. My 16 daughter had ACL surgery 9 days ago and has been complaing about foot pain. The top of her foot is numb but she is complaining of pain inside her foot and sometimes her calf. She gets some relief when she ices and elevates but when she stands the pain is back and doesn't go away. We had to do a round of IV antibiotics because her knee was swollen, red and very warm after her first visit to physical therapy. Please tell me if anyone has experienced this and knows what it is. Thanks so much.

  2. Honestly, this question really needs to be answered by a doctor as soon as possible. Sorry, I can't offer you any more than this, but the need for antibiotics is somewhat concerning to me. My doctor told me to call him if I had any pain in my calf...blood clot possibility. However, I had an ACL reconstruction using "my own patella tendon" from the injured leg.

I am sure she will be fine but I would, 100%, call her doctor at first chance.

  3. I couldn't agree more, call the doctor. She may need to get back on the pain meds.
